Waterproofing

Waterproofing

Rain is a constant in Belgium and this is an additional reason for us to provide top-notch waterproofing solutions for the most demanding constructions and clients. We use several technologies, depending on the type of the project.

Waterproofing systems aim at preventing the passage of solids, liquids or gas, from one environment to the other. In the world of construction, it usually means protecting buildings from bad weather and avoiding those passages between outside and inside. ROTEAM offers several techniques to set up waterproofing systems at one of the most critical places of a building: the roof.

1. Bituminous waterproofing

Bituminous waterproofing membranes are composed by a shell coated with bitumen. The waterproofing system is obtained by the overlay of those membranes giving, in general, dual-layer systems.

Features and benefits:

  • The bituminous waterproofing membranes have the main benefits of being highly flexible. Their malleability allows them to be adapted to all surfaces and to complex shapes.
  • Available in a large panel of products since this system is one of the most used ones for waterproofing.
  • Simple and fast to set up.

2. EPDM waterproofing

Those membranes are composed of Ethylen Propylen Dien Monomer (EPDM) monolayer rubber.

Features and benefits:

  • The EPDM waterproofing membranes are resistant to UVs, ozone and extreme temperatures (high and low), which endows them of exceptional longevity and durability.
  • EPDM membranes are flexible and elastic.
  • Ecological during its fabrication and its pose and usage.
  • Less expensive on the long term. Because of their longevity and the fact that they require few or no maintenance, these membranes depreciate their cost on the long run.

3. Liquid waterproofing

The liquid waterproofing systems are used when the other membrane systems are complicated, or impossible, to use and when overlayers or overloads must be avoided (e.g. in renovation). Moreover, it allows the passage of pedestrians without any additional protection while the previous coating can also be conserved.

Features and benefits:

  • The liquid waterproofing systems are 100% safe.
  • These systems are economically efficient since the previous coating can be conserved.
  • Are composed of homogeneous waterproofing layer.
  • The liquid waterproofing systems are sustainable in all conditions.
